UMBC - An Honors University in Maryland

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County is an American public research university established in 1966, located outside of Baltimore City in the Catonsville community. Life and learning come together at UMBC. UMBC specializes in natural sciences and engineering, as well as programs in the liberal arts and social sciences. UMBC also offers countless activities and resources - from state-of-the-art athletic facilities to dance, music and theatre performances. The UMBC Retrievers have 19 NCAA Division I teams that participate in the America East Conference. They made history in the 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as the first #16 seed to beat a #1 seed. With downtown Baltimore and Washington, D.C., both nearby, there is never a shortage of things to do.
